Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit, national body that oversees the safety and quality of health care and other services provided in accredited organizations.

By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission‘s national standards for health care quality and safety, Covenant Medical Center – Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare (including Cancer Treatment Center, Covenant Clinic locations, Covenant Home Medical, Kimball Ridge Center, Occupational Health Partners and Laboratory) and Sartori Memorial Hospital - Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare and Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters Laboratory have earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™.

Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-IA has two hospitals that are recognized as Top Performers in The Joint Commission’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures™ program. Covenant Medical Center and Sartori Memorial Hospital are recognized by The Joint Commission for achieving excellence in performance on their accountability measures during 2013.

As Top Performers, Covenant and Sartori are among 1,099 hospitals being recognized this year. This represents the top 33 percent of all Joint Commission-accredited hospitals reporting accountability measure performance data for 2012. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to assuring that evidence-based interventions are delivered in the right way and at the right time - because it's the right thing to do for our patients.
