Covenant Medical Center is committed to the community and is set to host a minority health and wellness summit in June tied to its latest initiative, The MOCHA (Men of Color Health Access) Project.

Minorities often face disparities in their health due to access, this program is for men of color and those that love them. The initiative was designed to educate underrepresented populations and provide access to education and services. The MOCHA Project collaborates with area barbershops and churches to engage community members to take action in regards to their health.

On June 4, 2016 Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - Iowa will host the Meet, Munch & MOCHA: Health & Wellness Summit from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Waterloo East High School. The event will offer a variety of breakout sessions, educational speakers, and health screenings. The keynote speaker will be Waterloo Mayor Quentin Hart.

The goal of this program is to increase health education and access to community members that may not receive it otherwise.
