Welcoming New Cardiology ARNP to Covenant Clinic

Covenant Clinic is pleased to welcome Tabetha Gehrke, ARNP. Tabetha began working as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in cardiology beginning August 12, 2013.

“I have 13 years of critical care experience with cardiac patients and enjoy caring for this population because the heart is central to every body system functioning optimally,” said Mrs. Gehrke. “I find cardiology to be a rewarding field because it encompasses the science of treating disease of the heart – which is the center of life and the human soul.”

Mrs. Gehrke received her BSN from the University of Iowa in 2010. She graduated from Allen College’s MS Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program in May 2013.

In her health care experience, Tabetha recognizes that sometimes patients can become overwhelmed. In that instance, her first instinct is to reach out a caring hand.

“Sometimes it is as simple as holding someone’s hand while they cry, giving a hug, or sitting silently and listening,” said Tabetha. “Other times it is taking the extra time to teach a concept that results in lifestyle changes in our patients. I approach each day with a thought process that if I can make a difference in the life of one individual today, I have had a successful day.”

You will find Tabetha Gehrke, ARNP, in the Covenant Clinic Cardiology office, Covenant Professional Office Building, 2710 St. Francis Drive – Suite 320, in Waterloo.
