Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare introduces Annual Report website
Waterloo, IA - Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare’s 2012 Annual Report is now available for viewing on www.WheatonAnnualReport.org. The website features financial highlights, community benefit contributions, and a series of short videos about patients and housing ministry residents. Information is also included on how the organization is addressing the needs of vulnerable populations, supporting healthy lifestyles, and improving quality of life in the communities Wheaton serves.
In fiscal year 2012, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare provided nearly $158 million in charitable benefit to the community, including nearly $38 million in charity care. In Iowa, Wheaton’s community benefit totaled more than $17 million including more than $4 million in charity care.

Oliverio, President and Chief Executive Officer.
In addition to providing charity care and covering the shortfall from government-sponsored programs such as Medicaid, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare in Iowa provided $854,000 in care to the elderly that was not reimbursed by Medicare. The gap in Medicare reimbursement was not included in accordance with the Catholic Health Association Community Benefit Reporting Guidelines.
