Practice areas of special interest/special procedures:

Dr. Harbut uses a holistic approach to treat chronic pain, including minimally invasive interventional procedures when needed. He has a special interest in treating neuropathic pain disorders such as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD). He was inspired to pioneer the use of low dose infusions of intravenous ketamine for the treatment of persistent, severe CRPS in the USA, after working in Australia in 1999. While there, Dr. Harbut met Dr. Graeme Correll, who originally pioneered this method in Queensland in the 1990’s. Together, the doctors published on this promising new technique in the journal of Pain Medicine in 2002 and 2004.
