Covenant Medical Center Auxilians give their time and talents to support Covenant and our community. The Auxiliary is an essential part of the Covenant team and is one of the largest and most active service organizations in the Cedar Valley. Today, the Covenant Medical Center Auxiliary has 280 members and is looking for new members to join the team.

Covenant Medical Center Auxiliary presented five students with scholarships at their May 2011 meeting.

Additionally, they presented a $50,000 check to the Covenant Foundation.

The purpose of the Covenant Medical Center Auxiliary is:

• To promote cooperative interest between Covenant Medical Center and the community
• To raise funds for the benefit of Covenant Medical Center
• To assist in any activities approved by the auxiliary and the Covenant Medical Center Board of Directors
• To provide scholarships for qualified applicants interested in the healthcare field

Covenant Gift Shop General Information

One of the main Auxiliary projects is the operation of four gift shops - three at Covenant Medical Center and one at Kimball Ridge. The gift shops feature the very latest in fine gifts, jewelry, cards, flowers, books, and magazines, as well as seasonal items to meet every price range and interest.

The Covenant Gift Shops are staffed entirely by auxiliary volunteers except for the Gift Shop Manager and Coordinators :

• Linda Wessels – Gift Shop Coordinator
• Kathy Swisher – Gift Shop Coordinator

The Gift Shops provide one of the largest parts of the Auxiliaries’ financial contribution to the hospitals.

Volunteering in the Gift Shops is a fun and rewarding way to be part of the work of the Auxiliary. To take advantage of volunteering at the gift shop, contact Linda or Kathy at 319.272.7380.

Covenant Medical Center Main Gift Shop

Located at Covenant Medical Center, 3421 West 9th Street, in the visitor entrance lobby. -- has an extensive variety of gift items, jewelry, children’s items, fragrances and lamps. Also has a broad selection of candy, books, magazines and festive balloons and flowers. The store is sales tax free.

Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Sunday 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Covenant Medical Center "Gifts 2 Go" Gift Shop

Located at Covenant Medical Center, 3421 West 9th Street, to the left of the patient entrance lobby (across from the patient check-in desk). This shop is a satellite to the main gift shop and contains many of the same things as the main store. This store is sales tax free.

Located at Ridgeway Place, corner of Ridgeway and Kimball Avenues, Waterloo, Kimball Avenue entrance – offers assorted gifts, groceries and sundries. The store is sales tax free.
