Covenant Clinic is pleased to welcome Bobbita Nag, MD,  as a new Covenant Clinic Psychiatrist in Waterloo. Dr. Nag comes to the Cedar Valley from Tucson, Arizona, where she recently completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from the University of Arizona.

Dr. Nag knew early on in her life that she wanted to devote herself to improving the lives of others. When it came time to decide a career path, she did not hesitate to choose the field of medicine. “Medicine was a natural choice for me,” said Dr. Nag. “It is both challenging as well as immensely satisfying because I can care for others.”

Raised in a large family, she imbibed the values of education, hard work, and sincerity by her parents. She applied those values in her medical training and decided on Psychiatry because she found it intellectually stimulating. “I was fascinated with this field’s unique practice of exploring the human mind and human behavior in treating illnesses of the mind and body,” she said.

Dr. Nag received her medical degree from Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh, India. She was in private practice in Delhi, India, from 2002 to 2004 and was a Clinical Observer on a Psychiatry unit and a Pediatric ENT clinic in Illinois in 2006. She later pursued her internship at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Nag completed a Residency in General Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2009. She recently completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Nag is a board eligible Child and Adult Psychiatrist.

When Dr. Nag is not seeing patients she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 18-month-old son. She also enjoys traveling, hiking and reading.

You will find Dr. Nag practicing at Covenant Clinic Psychiatry, 2750 St. Francis Dr., Waterloo. To schedule an appointment, call 319.272.8922.
