Mercy & Me: Healthy Living

Mercy Hospital Hosts Health Education Series

Make plans to attend the next Mercy & Me: Healthy Living program titled “Prevention and Treatment of the 10 Most Common Orthopedic Injuries.” Dr. Jason Stanford, Covenant Clinic Orthopedic Surgeon, will show attendees how to avoid orthopedic injuries and ways they are commonly treated.

Sports, physical activity, accidents--all are causes of orthopedic injuries. These are injuries most commonly made to muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, tendons or nerves. A primary care physician will commonly diagnose an orthopedic injury and refer a patient to an orthopedic surgeon who can determine the next course of action. At Mercy, Drs. Stanford and Roach see patients for these types of injuries.

The presentation will be February 2, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the first floor conference room at Mercy. Guests should park in the lot across the street from Covenant Clinic, or on the southeast side of the hospital, and use the main hospital entrance. The event is free and open to the public but registration is required. To register, call 319-283-6000 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. Light refreshments will be served while supplies last.
