New Provider Joints Covenant Clinic Team in Waverly

Covenant Clinic is pleased to welcome Zarlish Tariq, MD, to Waverly. She joins the Covenant Clinic team with a focus in Family Practice. Dr. Tariq is coming to Waverly from the Family Medicine Residency Program in Cedar Rapids. 

Dr. Tariq was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan. She developed a strong passion for working with families during her medical education. “I enjoy working with all age groups ranging from Pediatrics to Geriatrics,” said Dr. Tariq. “Being a family physician, I can work with families and enjoy practicing the full spectrum of medicine.” 
 
Dr. Tariq received her medical degree from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, in 2005. She was a Geriatrics Visiting Fellow at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics (2006-2007) and an intern in Family Medicine at the Cedar Rapids Medical Education Foundation Department of Family Medicine from 2007 to 2008. Most recently, Dr. Tariq completed her Family Medicine Residency at the Cedar Rapids Medical Education Foundation in June, 2010. 
 
Outside of work, Dr. Tariq enjoys spending time with her family and has lived in Northeast Iowa since 2009. She says she is excited to be joining the team at Covenant Clinic in Waverly. “My interaction with everybody working for Covenant Clinic has been amazing,” she said. “Everybody has been very understanding and helpful.”
