Patient and Family Advisory Council

On behalf of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, we are excited to announce a new initiative to better understand how our Covenant Clinic offices and Sartori Memorial Hospital can best meet the needs and priorities of patients and their families in the Cedar Falls area. We are establishing a Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC), and are looking for patients and/or family members of patients who have utilized our health care services and would be interested in serving on the council.

The purpose of the council is to:

  • Build inclusive relationships with patients and their families
  • Better understand the patient and family perspective so we can enhance our health care service
    and care
  • Work collaboratively to guide policy and programming that are relevant to the patient and families in support of safe, equitable and high-quality care
  • To enhance understanding of health care and our system to ensure patients and families have the information they need to make decisions

We are seeking Council members who are able to work collaboratively in a group setting, be open and honest with communication, and be able to attend meetings every six weeks, likely in the early evening hours (dinner will be provided).

If interested, please contact Amy at 319.272.5924 or by email at Amy.Hetherton@wfhc.org. We are committed to involving patients and their families as advisors in shaping health care in our community. Your efforts during this process will help us establish the building blocks for future councils.
