Nurse Practitioner Amy Schrader Joins Covenant Clinic

Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Iowa (Wheaton Iowa) is pleased to welcome Amy Schrader, ARNP to Covenant Clinic. Schrader is a nurse practitioner providing care in several Covenant Clinic family medicine locations including Waterloo, Cedar Falls, La Porte City, Parkersburg, Jesup, Dysart, Gladbrook and Traer.

Schrader is excited to join the organization and stated, “The Cedar Valley has always been home to me. After studying abroad for a year and traveling I decided that Iowa was home and always would be home.”

Ms. Schrader completed her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) training in 2009, and her Associate's Degree in Nursing in 2011, both at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Upper Iowa University in Cedar Rapids in 2014 and her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in Minneapolis in 2017. She has been employed as a Registered Nurse at Covenant Medical Center since 2012.

"It is rewarding to serve the diverse populations of rural Iowa and provide individualized care, from a child with a cold to an older patient with several chronic conditions," she said. "I enjoy watching them improve their health and wellness by treating illness, preventing disease, and managing conditions."

Amy Schrader lives on a farm south of Dysart with her husband and young daughter.
