Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Iowa is pleased to welcome Krissy Wieland, ARNP to Covenant Clinic Franklin Street. Wieland is a nurse practitioner who will start at the new clinic in downtown Waterloo this month.

Mrs. Wieland is excited to be joining the organization and said, “I have known from a very young age that I wanted to take care of people. I chose family medicine because I’m able to see patients throughout the lifespan. There’s never a dull moment.”

Wieland received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids in 2010, and completed a nurse residency program at Mercy Medical Center. She then served as a registered nurse at Regional Medical Center in Manchester, and worked toward a Doctorate of Nursing Practice, which she eventually earned from Clarke University in Dubuque in 2015.

Wieland has been a pain management provider for several rural clinics and hospitals in northeast Iowa, and is already familiar with Covenant Clinic. “I spent time as a student nurse practitioner at the Covenant Clinic in Evansdale and was impressed with the provider’s compassion for patients. I could tell each employee truly loved what they do.”

Krissy lives in Independence with her husband and son. She loves spending time with family, going fishing in the summers, playing with her son, reading books and going for runs.

You will find Krissy Wieland, ARNP at the new Covenant Clinic located 220 Franklin Street in downtown Waterloo. This new Waterloo location will grant community members an additional entry point to the broad network of Covenant Clinic specialists and services offered by Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Iowa.
