Open House and Ribbon Cutting at Covenant Clinic in Downtown Waterloo

The newest family medicine clinic in downtown Waterloo will welcome community members to an open house on Wednesday, June 14. The reception is planned from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Ambassadors from the Cedar Valley Alliance and Chamber will also be on hand for a ribbon cutting.

Covenant Clinic added the new location at 220 Franklin Street to expand health care access to the people of Waterloo. The clinic provides health care services to assist patients of all ages and grants community members an additional entry point to the broad network of Covenant Clinic specialists and services offered by Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Iowa.

“The number of people living and working in downtown Waterloo is exploding!” said Waterloo Mayor Quentin Hart. “This new downtown clinic is a prime example of bridging gaps in the community by making more health care options available to people right where they are.”

“Covenant Clinic is proud to have such a vast clinic offering throughout the metro area and in rural communities throughout northeast Iowa,” said Jeff Halverson, Vice President of Covenant Clinic. “With a high focus on good health, we are always seeking opportunities to improve access for patients.”

Nurse practitioner Krissy Wieland began seeing patients at the new clinic earlier this year. “My goal is to keep patients educated about their own health, so they can actively participate in decision-making,” she said. “I hope to be a provider that patients enjoy coming to and trust with their health care needs.”
