MHN is now MercyOne.The branding reflects the organization’s significant growth over the last 20 years and is a key step in connecting its many points of care across the state and surrounding regions. The effort will make it easier for consumers to identify care locations, enhance the coordination of medical expertise and services and ensure consistent patient care experiences across all locations.“We are excited to bring our mission and vision to life with our new unified brand. Our transition to MercyOne allows us to be more recognizable to the people and communities we serve and celebrates the remarkable work of our teams across the state to build a better-connected system of care and services,” said MercyOne President and CEO Bob Ritz. ”MercyOne represents our incredible team of over 20,000 people working together with one purpose, helping every individual we serve live their best life. The health of our patients and communities is at the center of the circle of all of our efforts." With the new brand, MercyOne’s 18 owned and joint venture medical centers and hospitals, as well as more than 420 clinics and related care facilities, will modify their names and adopt the new logo. New names will now link facilities regionally to the communities served. For instance, new naming includes MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center (formerly Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines) and MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center (formerly Covenant Medical Center). Arrowhead Medical Center in Cedar Falls will become MercyOne Bluebell Road Health Plaza. All 25 affiliated hospitals and facilities contracting with MercyOne for management support, statewide initiatives and strategic benefits will continue to retain their local governance and current names.The health system introduced the new logo and brand campaign today with internal brand celebrations at many of its patient care locations. Due to the size of this transition, signage implementation will be phased-in over several years, in coordination with the system’s continued capital investments in new facilities, medical equipment and technology advancements.“Our new name and brand look represent an important step in coming together as an organization. The unified brand launch extends and amplifies the impact of work to unify our culture and supports many of our strategic initiatives,” said Janell Pittman, chief marketing and digital strategy officer at MercyOne, who led the branding effort for the system.Previously, the system’s facilities were represented by dozens of different brand names and logos. Pittman and the MercyOne team developed the new brand through consumer research, along with focus groups and thousands of interactions with team members. In addition, the organization implemented a unique culture and service engagement initiative designed to align all teams and facilities to deliver consistently on its mission, vision and values. The health system is launching a multi-faceted communications program to introduce communities to the MercyOne brand. In addition to the new name and logo, the branding initiative is anchored in a new tagline: Your best life. Our one purpose. Also, a new television commercial introducing MercyOne will debut in many Iowa markets during Sunday’s Super Bowl telecast.As part of the branding and system transformation, MercyOne has made several changes, effective today: Name – Mercy Health Network is now MercyOne. All the system’s owned hospitals and facilities will adopt the MercyOne name, along with a facility locator. Logo/Identity – The new logo visually expresses the past, present and future of the health system and honors the deep connection the word “Mercy” has with patients, colleagues and communities. The logo is comprised of two elements – the MercyOne logotype and the integrated cross symbol. Formed in 1998 by Catholic Health Initiatives (now CommonSpirit Health) and Trinity Health, MercyOne has grown into one of Iowa’s leading providers of health care services. The system includes 18 owned or joint venture medical centers and hospital campuses, 25 affiliated medical centers, along with more than 420 ambulatory care locations, all generating more than $3 billion in combined revenue and employing more than 20,000 people.
