Welcoming New Neurosurgeon, Dr. Marietta Walsh, to Covenant Clinic

posted 9/19/2017 by Augusta Sires in News

Covenant Clinic is pleased to welcome Marietta Walsh, DO, to the Iowa Spine and Brain Institute™ neurosurgery department.

Dr. Walsh finds her role as a neurosurgeon to be very fulfilling, especially when seeing the faces of her patients and their families after surgery. "Whether I am performing a simple spine procedure or removing a brain tumor, I have always enjoyed the look on the patient and family members' faces once surgery is complete and the patient’s symptoms have improved. Regardless of how long or difficult a surgery is, the best part is always the patient and family reactions."

Dr. Walsh received her medical degree from Touro University COM in Vallejo, California. She completed a specialty rotation in Neurotrauma and Neurocritical Care at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois, and a specialty rotation in Pediatric Neurosurgery at Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Walsh completed her Neurological Surgery Residency at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois, and recently completed a Neuro-Oncology and Complex Spine Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Walsh was recently married and has two pet cats. In her free time, she enjoys golf and exercising, is a food and wine enthusiast, and enjoys traveling.

You will find Dr. Walsh practicing at the Iowa Spine and Brain Institute, 2710 St. Francis Drive, Suite 110, Waterloo. Help us welcome her to the Cedar Valley.
