Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – Iowa (Wheaton Iowa) will ensure access to rural Iowans by opening a Covenant Clinic Family Medicine location in the community of Allison. The clinic will be located at 502 Locust Street and is scheduled to open this summer. The announcement means community members who have received care at this same location in the past are able to continue receiving care in their hometown.
"We are looking forward to continue health care services in this community," said Jeff Halverson, Vice President of Covenant Clinic. "Our goal is to maintain local access to a Family Medicine provider for comprehensive health care, to people of all ages emphasizing disease prevention, health promotion and referrals for specialized needs." Covenant Clinic services will encompass a traditional rural primary care scope of practice, including laboratory services on-site.
Individuals who are not currently Covenant Clinic patients can call 319.272.5338 to request a medical records release form and have their medical records transferred.
