Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - Iowa (Wheaton Iowa) is pleased to welcome Amy Laib, MD, to Covenant Clinic. Dr. Laib is a family medicine provider who joined the Kimball Ridge Center clinic this month.

Dr. Laib is excited to be joining the organization and stated, "When I interviewed here, I immediately felt at home in Waterloo and loved the people I met." Her interest in medicine started at a young age as both her parents are physicians who started an international medical mission organization called Circle of Love Foundation. She went on her first medical mission trip when she was 11 and knew she wanted to be part of changing lives the way her parents do.

Providing holistic care to her patients and getting involved in the community are goals Dr. Laib has as she begins practicing at Covenant Clinic. She is especially excited to care for patients of all ages. "I appreciate long-term relationships with my patients and I love preventative care, so family medicine is the perfect fit for me," says Dr. Laib. "The most rewarding moments come when I'm able to make patients feel that their story has been heard and that they have an advocate walking with them."

Dr. Laib earned her medical degree from American University of the Caribbean in Cupecoy, St. Maarten, and recently completed her residency at Union Hospital Family Medicine in Terre Haute, Indiana. She is part of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.

Dr. Laib lives in Waterloo and enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, bicycling, hiking, singing, gardening, volunteering in mentorship programs and being involved in her church.

You will find Dr. Laib at the Covenant Clinic office in the Kimball Ridge Center located at 2055 Kimball Ave., Suite 400 in Waterloo.
