About Sarojini Velamasetti
My passion to become a member of the medical profession stems from events and circumstances I have experienced over the years. As a doctor, I feel empowered with the opportunity to contribute to the social welfare of the community while making an impact on individuals with whom I interact. This is extremely appealing as it provides the prospect of adding value to others through my actions. The treatment I received from doctors for life-threatening malaria at the age of 11 was amazing. That incident and support from my family and friends drew me towards medicine.
Family medicine is part of my own quest and personal journey to help others. This specialty encompasses everything I could ask for both as a profession and a way of life. It offers the challenges of working with a variety of patients having differing health issues. At the same time it also allows me to pursue different avenues of medicine. Personally, I love the idea of medicine which follows generations of a family through their lives.
