That’s why Covenant Cancer Treatment Center offers a cancer rehabilitation and wellness program customized for each patient based on their individual needs. Some of the challenges you may encounter include:
- Chronic and Acute Pain
- Impaired Mobility (Balance problems, difficulty walking, assessing the need for a walking aid)
- Deconditioning (Weakness, fatigue and loss of flexibility)
- Decreased ability to perform activities of daily living (Assessment of your ability to perform self care and need of adaptive equipment to make life easier)
- Lymphedema (A swelling condition that can occur on any part of the body after injury, surgery or radiation treatment)
- Energy Management and Conservation Techniques
- Safety and Cognitive Concerns
- Nutrition Advice (Balanced diet; skin conditions; etc.)
- Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction
- Dysphagia (Difficulty swallowing)
- Psychosocial Difficulties (Depression, loss or grief)
- Vocational Training Needs
- Post Amputation Care (Mastectomy)
- Prosthetics and Orthotics Fitting (Compression garments, apparel and accessories)
Cancer rehabilitation services are performed by a therapist and require a doctor's referral. These services are covered by all major insurances and Medicare. All Cancer wellness services performed at Covenant Cancer Treatment Center are free of charge and do not require a doctor's referral. These services are performed by a Med-Fit facilitator/cancer exercise specialist.
To help you improve your quality of life and independence by improving your ability to be active and comfortable. It is our goal to reduce your pain and improve your mobility by focusing on flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination and balance.
To help you live as independently as possible, training you on performing activities for daily living such as dressing, eating, playing with your kids, interacting with family, friends and community.
To help you communicate your wants and needs with clarity and ease for swallowing, cognitive function, oral motor skills, etc.
To help you cope with stress, deal with grief and maintain a positive outlook.

Medically Based Wellness
Will help you to increase strength and endurance, as well as help manage fatigue and pain. It will also help increase mobility, decrease swelling due to Lymphedema, increase self-esteem and confidence, as well as meet specific, individual needs and concerns.
The majority of cancer rehabilitation and wellness programs are handled at Covenant Cancer Treatment Center. A few may be temporarily handled at Covenant Wellness Center, just across the street at Kimball Ridge Center.

Pre-treatment to lessen the effects of expected disabilities and provide necessary patient education to help you gain a greater sense of control and make you feel more actively involved in your cancer treatment and outcomes.
Treatment to help you get through chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or in some cases, both. Covenant Cancer Treatment Center is the only accredited treatment program in the area that offers both disciplines, and provides a coordinated expert medical team and caring staff throughout your course of treatment.
Restorative to help you return to previous levels of physical, psychological, social and vocational ability. With a new cancer rehabilitation and fitness program located at Covenant Cancer Treatment Center, we provide individualized services in a private setting at one convenient location.
Supportive to help you through disabilities and minimize debilitating changes from the onset of this disease. We’re here to help you maximize your independence and get back to enjoying activities of your everyday life.
Palliative to minimize complications and provide comfort and support. We’ll focus on pain control, prevention of sores and deterioration from inactivity. We’ll be there for you and your family members when some days seem a bit tough.
