Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Tool

By taking this assessment, you have the opportunity to determine your risk level for developing breast cancer. Knowing your risk can help you determine how often and in what ways you should be screened. Breast cancer continues to be the most common cancer in women. The statistics show that 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Two-thirds of new breast cancers are diagnosed in women without a family history of breast cancer. Knowing your risk level and having a screening mammogram that can detect cancer in its earliest, most treatable stage decreases the chance that a woman will need extensive treatment and/or die from breast cancer. We strongly encourage women who know they are of average risk to start annual screening mammography at age 40 and continue yearly in order to obtain maximum lifesaving benefits.
